A chair with special aesthetic and functional characteristics.

The backrest – based on a spectacular, highly distinctive design – is formed by a tubular structure fitted with a highly durable stretched fabric cover. This feature makes the chair exceptionally comfortable as the user’s back is supported by a non-rigid structure that adapts perfectly to body contours. The cover can be changed without using special tools. The seat is formed of an internal structure made of 13-mm beech plywood covered with a block of high-density, anatomically contoured foam. The seat and foam are encased in a fabric cover. A 5-mm fire barrier (TS System) is incorporated between the foam and upholstery on both the seat and backrest to prevent fire from reaching the foam. This delays the spread of flames and emission of toxic gases. The bottom of the seat is covered with a sheet of plywood upholstered in the same material as the backrest. The chair is mounted on two standards made of high-density wood with a matte varnish finish. The standards support the seat and backrest and contain the seat-return hinge mechanism, an assembly made of reinforced polyamide of high mechanical strength. The design of this mechanism makes it maintenance-free. The movement of the seat as it returns to the upright position is completely silent thanks to Soft System controlled cushioning. The standards house a steel bridge structure to which the backrest and hinge assembly for the seat are attached. The bridge structure also links the different elements of the chair and makes it possible to form extremely rigid rows. The armrests are made of steel plate that is covered in foam and upholstered.
