Utensil - Industrial culture goes home. The goods have their origin in the working world and public spaces and are therefor already tested for their function. The products are moved out of their context into the private living environment. That's how a tool bag becomes an indestructable everyday companion, an Erlenmeyer flask can be used to decant redwine out of it and the japanese working shoes...
From 2012, Utensil presents its own product line, which was created in collaboration with international designers. Industrial products of convincing materiality and functionality will be modified to be used in everyday life. The new objects will be presented at design exhibitions and be brought to market as UTENSIL KOLLEKTION. Participating Designers are: Eric Degenhardt, Isabel Hamm, Patrick Frey, Jörg Mennickheim, Isabel Bürgin und Dreikant.
