northmodern is a new trade show for Furniture, Design and Art. Building on a strong design heritage in Denmark and with a unique position in Copenhagen, northmodern facilitates a new and innovative business platform, hosting a trade show twice a year for both the Furniture- and Interior Design Industry under the same roof.

Creating ONE platform

With new online opportunities the trading and shopping behaviour is constantly changing, challenging the way companies are run. New business models are being created; young brands blossom and revitalize the industry, established companies have sprung from the recession and reinvented ‘old news’ with interesting collabs – all creating products that are more available and accessible to the consumer and bringing together the world of Furniture and Interior Design as never before. Many furniture stores are expanding with more home accessories and vice versa.

northmodern — a business platform giving visitors a one-stop destination in Copenhagen, facilitates the many opportunities in the city and connects visitors with exhibitors, showrooms and the rest of the city. Visitors can, free of charge, take a ride on a northmodern shuttle bus, stopping at the most important design spots in the city.

Special Projects

Aiming at creating a new and inspiring trade show experience, northmodern puts a lot of effort into implementing ‘special projects’ with exhibitors and designers, showcasing interesting and innovative products, areas and installations with scenography that stands out.

In August, northmodern is introducing special projects with Tom Dixon, Muuto and HagendornHagen, amongst others.

Collabs

northmodern recognizes that in order to provide a strong and international business platform, strategic partners and collabs are key.

Partnerships

To enhance an official commitment to the furniture industry, northmodern has partnered up with the international organization for Architecture and Design, Architonic — the world’s leading research tool for the specification of premium architectural and design products.

Other partnerships are Design denmark, a Danish alliance of designers, design thinkers and design businesses, working to promote design in business and society. Design denmark is also curating the conference program at northmodern on the scene SPEAK, where Tom Dixon and Alice Rawsthorn are already confirmed as speakers amongst other interesting professional personalities.
