In the age of agile structures and flat hierarchies, can offices really still look the same as they did before? And, in the age of digitalisation, do we still even need furniture at all? What challenges are posed to the individual by opening up space? And how can they best develop and experience these new possibilities in times of infection control measures and social distancing?

The answer to all these questions, in short, is HUB. This flexible office element from Interstuhl comes from a philosophical approach, it is both one and many at the same time, and thus, taps into the spirit of the new world of work.

With HUB, you can easily create smaller islands in the middle of the larger space – ones which support flexible working as well as effective relaxation

In open space, the focus is not on work, but on people and their many different needs. They want to arrive and feel comfortable, sometimes they want to work in a quieter, more concentrated way and sometimes they want to talk. They want to continue to learn, make decisions, take a break. And, yes, sometimes they may even need to get on a swing for the creative juices to start flowing. In short, all of our everyday work activities have a different dynamic and need their own particular space and feel.

With HUB, these spaces can be individually created – without losing sight of the central, open space. Small islands in the middle of the main area, which allow flexible, effective work to be realised in a relaxed atmosphere. HUB is a system that’s reduced to the essentials with three basic elements: Rear walls and pods set the framework, mobile and stationary partitions define its dimensions, while armchairs and sofas form the basis – with the proven seating comfort of Interstuhl.
