Product description

THIS LUMINAIRE IS THE PRODUCT OF A COLLABORATION BETWEEN DESIGNER JACQUES-EMILE RUHLMANN AND THE MANUFACTURE NATIONALE DE SÈVRES, FRANCE'S PRESTIGIOUS STATE-SPONSORED PORCELAIN MANUFACTORY. RUHLMANN WAS INVITED IN 1926 TO CREATE OBJECTS FOR SÈVRES. HE CONCEIVED A CUP AND SAUCER OF THE MOST CONSUMMATE REFINEMENT AND AN EQUALLY ELEGANT, FLAWLESSLY PROPORTIONED INVERTED BELL FORM THAT WOULD FUNCTION AS AN UPLIGHTER IN DIFFERENT SIZES. RAISED ON A SILVERED BRONZE FOOT, AND IN THE PRESENT INSTANCE WITH A BALANCED, UNDERSTATED DECORATION, THIS LIGHT BECAME A PERFECT COMPLEMENT TO RUHLMANN'S FURNITURE.
