Perfect porcelain art.
At FÜRSTENBERG, the people make the porcelain, in every sense of the word: with their hands, their ideas and above all, with their expertise stemming from more than 265 years of experience in the art of manufacturing porcelain. Many of our staff members completed their vocational training at our porcelain manufactory and have been working to perpetuate the perfection that characterizes Fürstenberg ever since, some of them for over 40 years.

Peter Sudermann:
Filling the moulds at the revolving table
“One of FÜRSTENBERG’s particular strengths lies in the production of individual porcelain objects. It is particularly exciting to try to implement the customers’ individual wishes and ideas. Only very few of them have experience of the singularities of porcelain which means we are required to show a great deal of empathy.”

Christa Inhoffen:
Trimming the Niedersachsenross
“It is quite something to accompany the development of a porcelain object during the production process. The Niedersachsenross comprises 18 pieces, for example, which have to be decoratively assembled with great finesse. On the one hand, this activity requires many years of experience; on the other hand, it is also extremely varied.”

Eugen Ochs:
Preparation of a teapot for glazing
“Porcelain is a really exceptional material. A great deal of expertise is required when handling it. Skilled craftsmanship is paramount when it comes to the high level of precision required, whatever the items you’re working on, be it pieces for one of the collections or the development of individual objects. Porcelain is an unforgiving material – errors in precision stand out immediately, at the latest after the firing process.”

Wolfgang Golüke:
Gold and platinum rim painting
“It is fascinating to observe how a shape can be fundamentally altered by the way in which it is decorated and how the nature of a shape is determined by its décor. Each décor is a work of art in itself, be it a hand-painted design, 24-carat gold edges or sophisticated prints. It is these very details that characterise the unique quality of FÜRSTENBERG porcelain.”
