Pablo Laguarda, MArch
He was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1950. He studied at the Facultad De Arquitectura y Urbanismo in Montevideo, graduating in 1978, and receiving the degree of architect in the same year. During the entire year of 1977, he traveled around the world studying Architecture in the following countries: the United States, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, India, Taiwan, Egypt, Israel, Greece, Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, England, and Spain. Immigrating to the USA in 1983, he received the Certification as a Registered Architect in the United States, in 1986.
As Co-Founder and Principal of Laguarda.Low Architects, Mr. Laguarda coordinates and leads multi-disciplinary design teams on a variety of complex projects and has experience in all phases of project development. Mr. Laguarda has accumulated 30 years of architectural and planning experience and possesses an impressive portfolio of planning, urban design, mixed-use, corporate and speculative office, hotel, resort, retail, residential, and educational facilities. He has won numerous design awards and major international competitions for his projects.
John Low, MArch
He was born in Malacca, Malaysia. He received a full scholarship in 1981 from Exxon Corporation’s Teagle Foundation Scholarship to pursue undergraduate studies in the United States. Mr. Low received his Bachelor of Architecture, Magna cum Laude, from Kansas State University in 1987, and in 1992, received his Master of Architecture with honors from the University of California Berkeley. He is a registered architect in the state of Maryland and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
As principal and co-founder of the firm, Mr. Low has helped lead the firm’s practice in Japan, China and South East Asia, and holds primary responsibilities in all aspects of commercial architecture including design, management and business development. The office has won numerous design awards and major international competitions for projects under his direction.
Mark Edwin, MArch
Mark Edwin Jenkins was born in Kinder, Louisiana, USA, in 1963. Better known as Ed, he received his Bachelor of Architecture from Louisiana State University in 1987, and in 1993, received his Master of Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He is a registered architect in the states of Texas and Massachusetts and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the AIA Dallas Chapter, and the Texas Society of Architects.
As Principal of LAGUARDA.LOW ARCHITECTS LLC, Mr. Jenkins is responsible for business development in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, after having traveled and worked in over 40 countries. He manages, coordinates and leads the design efforts on a variety of multifaceted projects, particularly those relating to retail and entertainment. His experience encompasses all phases of project development with a critical emphasis on design.
