Koichi Takada studied and graduated from the City University of New York and the Architectural Association in London. As an Associate Director at PTW Architects in Sydney, Koichi worked on a diverse range of projects in Australia, Japan,China, Middle East in Dubai, Abu Dhabi. In 2009, Koichi established Koichi Takada Architects in Sydney, and is currently working on various projects in Australia, Japan, and Europe. Koichi has won key personal awards including the Grand Prize from Central Glass International Architectural Design Competition, SD Review Award, Australian Premier Award, Australian Interior Design Awards, and also has taught at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Melbourne.

Koichi Takada Architects is a Sydney‐based firm, currently designing a range of luxury residential projects and creative mixed use and retail venues in Sydney.

Founded in Sydney in 2008, Koichi Takada Architects is a young and innovative practice, which has already delivered a wide range of architectural and interior projects within the Sydney area in hospitality, residential, and cultural venues.

Koichi Takada has brought a Japanese sensibility to Australian architecture. His work is innovative and refined. He melds the traditions of his homeland with today’s stunning flowing forms – an approach he developed in New York, London and Tokyo.

Projects by Koichi Takada Architects have won several key awards including the International restaurant and Bar Design Awards in the UK and an International Property Council award; as well as having two projects short listed at the Australian Interior Design Awards. The firm’s projects are well recognized and have been extensively featured in Australian and International design magazines including Vogue Living, Belle and [Inside].
