VILLEROY & BOCH introduce a new tile concept. OPTIMA: Imposing mega-formats bring out the best in ceramic surfaces.

Big, bigger, OPTIMA - The new tile concept from Villeroy & Boch Tiles exploits the elegant lightness of large formats to the full. The imposing mega-formats create large and attractive ceramic surfaces with few joints to produce a puristic living space. They can be laid to form exclusive designs that are both attractive and functional. In the bathroom, for example, a shower without any joints whatsoever can be installed using just one single wall and floor tile. In the living room as well, the gigantic wall tiles in one piece, from floor to ceiling, create an impressive minimalistic sense of space.

The OPTIMA range comes in three sizes: 60 x 120 cm, 120 x 120 cm and the new 120 x 260 cm XXL format, adapted ideally to standard ceiling heights. The porcelain stoneware tiles are just 6 mm thick and therefore relatively light for ease of transport and handling. OPTIMA tiles can be laid on walls and floors. The thin ceramic has good thermal conductivity and is thus ideal for underfloor heating systems. The lightweight large-format tiles are also perfect for renovations as they are thin enough to be laid on top of existing surfaces.

The designs used in the X-PLANE, SPOTLIGHT, HUDSON, and TUCSON ranges were chosen to bring out the clear aesthetic appeal of OPTIMA to the full. X-PLANE OPTIMA and SPOTLIGHT OPTIMA reproduce the original attractiveness of cement and concrete in a ceramic medium and are ideally suited for exclusive modern interior designs.

Spaciousness with that something extra: X-PLANE OPTIMA

Optimally tailored to the needs of living and business spaces alike, the X-PLANE OPTIMA range in vilbostone porcelain stoneware is versatile in use. This discerning tile concept features a surface finish reminiscent of cement – long held in high regard as a design for walls and floors – together with subtle, glossy accents. These aesthetically high-quality characteristics of design come to fruition even better in the mega-format, opening up a new dimension for architectural designs.

Minimalistic and harmonious home interiors: SPOTLIGHT OPTIMA

Concrete-like finishes lend bathrooms and living spaces a modern character. With the SPOTLIGHT OPTIMA tile range, this design presents itself from a harmoniously natural side. The tiles from vilbostone porcelain stoneware in four authentic colours allow for warmer and cooler home interiors. Depending on the combination – whether with natural materials, on the one hand, or with stainless steel elements on the other – both colour themes create a distinctive style of living. Another asset for the mega-format: The small number of joints makes interpretations of concrete coverings look even more authentic.

The HUDSON OPTIMA and TUCSON OPTIMA ranges are inspired by natural stone and introduce an authentic natural feel to the interior, HUDSON with a restrained sandstone look, and TUCSON with a more lively stone structure.

Ceramic as warmth and atmosphere: the HUDSON OPTIMA range

Living comfort combined with minimalist elegance – HUDSON OPTIMA made of vilbostone porcelain stoneware lends rooms an exquisite, natural flair. The very sight of the finishes spontaneously awakens associations with fine-grained sand.

As wall and floor coverings, these mega-formats with their gentle textures create an architectural effect of spaciousness that skilfully accents the interior and gives it a stylish look. This gives the select natural design a home in classical, rustic and minimalist settings alike.

The wealth of colours and shapes: TUCSON OPTIMA

Its authentically natural expressive power makes TUCSON OPTIMA a wall and floor covering that gives off a great deal of warmth. The large-format tiles made of vilbostone porcelain stoneware present themselves in intense hues and textures, with much of the fascination found in nature. The result is an interior that gives bathrooms, living and business spaces a rustic charm while at the same time interpreting them in generous ways.

All the designs are available in four colours in warm beige-brown and cooler white-grey tones, offering a suitable OPTIMA tile for every taste and style, be it restrained urban, naturally modern, or classically elegant. The size of the OPTIMA tiles makes them not only visually impressive but also very easy to take care of. There are very few joints, and the high-quality porcelain stoneware is sealed in the factory with easy-to-clean vilbostoneplus.

OPTIMA’s exclusive look also convinced an expert international jury, which judged it worthy of the sought-after Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018, a prestigious and globally acclaimed design and innovation award. OPTIMA will also be on display for a year in the Red Dot Design Museum, the largest contemporary design museum in Europe.

Whether in lofts or renovated old buildings, the new OPTIMA concept from Villeroy & Boch Tiles makes for impressive wall and floor designs in bathrooms, bedrooms, or living rooms, creating a breathtaking sense of size and space.
