Equally discreet, efficient and attractive, the inductionAir Plus system from Siemens combines a hob with an integrated extractor hood. This gives architects and interior designers maximum creative freedom for their kitchen projects.

There's no doubt about it: Anyone involved as an architect or interior designer in the creative conception or outfitting of modern kitchens will be familiar with the megatrends of recent years: Kitchens – as spaces that accommodate social interaction – are becoming increasingly open. Often centrally located in spacious rooms, everything needed for food preparation is now increasingly orchestrated. The kitchen becomes a stage where design and architecture enter into a coherent dialogue.

The challenge, however, is to turn an aesthetic vision into reality without compromising on the functional level. After all, the sensual pleasure of cooking requires some elementary basic conditions that must be observed. These include, for example, the need for a solution to the odours and fumes that arise during cooking, particularly when living rooms and kitchens are one shared space.

With the inductionAir Plus, the design team at Siemens Home Appliances has developed a powerful system that meets this challenge. It is a combination of a cooktop and an integrated extractor hood that makes cooking intuitive and comfortable, and characterised, at the same time, by a clear and elegant design.

With the inductionAir Plus, steam, grease and unwanted odours are extracted exactly where they occur

The appliance is part of Siemens’ premium studioLine segment which addresses a target group that have an affinity for design and architecture. The intelligent and compact system is all about reduction: a powerful extractor hood is integrated centrally and almost invisibly into the induction hob, neutralising the odours generated by cooking.

With the inductionAir Plus, steam, grease and unwanted odours are extracted exactly where they occur. The intensity of the extraction is controlled by a sensor that reacts automatically when fumes are formed. Incidentally, the extractor works so quietly that you can easily converse or listen to music. The induction hob automatically detects cookware of any size and shape and heats it evenly.

Integrated completely flush with the work surface of a kitchen unit, the inductionAir Plus becomes aesthetically one with the furniture. Its minimal installation depth of only 23cm not only saves space that can be used as storage under the worktop, but also enables design solutions where the furniture that houses the hob has the appearance of a table or part of it appears as a ‘floating’ plane. And since no external extractor hood is required, the inductionAir Plus is also suitable for installation under sloping roofs or by windows.

So when designing a kitchen, architects and interior designers have great freedom to find creative and individual solutions that respond to an existing space as well as to the preferences of their customers. And, also important for planners, the width variants (60, 70 and 80cm) create flexibility, so that installation is also possible in standard base units. In addition, a choice can be made between an exhaust air or recirculated air solution.

The principle of simplicity is also reflected in the ease of use: the inductionAir Plus can be controlled intuitively using the dual lightSlider on the glass ceramic plate, or, optionally, by mobile phone or tablet. This is because all inductionAir Plus models offer the possibility of networking, making numerous other services available via the Home Connect app. These include, for example, a reminder when the filter needs to be cleaned or access to Siemens’ Cook Book, which offers a variety of recipes as well as practical tools for purchase planning.

Once a specific recipe has been selected, for example, the app can be used to control the degree of heat and the duration of the cooking, frying or baking process. Of course, you can also become active yourself and personally shape a dish. No matter which option you choose – the joy of cooking should always be the main focus. And if you don't feel like cooking after a long day at work, the clear, minimalist design of a kitchen unit without a large extractor hood will still provide a feast for the eyes.
