The solid wood tables from NOTTE's BELFAKTO collection serve as focal points for people's lives – and not just in private homes.

Head of the table: Willi Notte is the second generation of his family to run the business

This is craftsmanship at its best: with its 14 highly motivated employees, the Notte carpentry company from Bitburg/Eifel creates exclusive furniture and sophisticated built-in furnishings that have been impressing customers from all over Germany with their looks and quality for decades. Founded in 1956, the company is currently headed by Willi Notte, the second generation of his family to run the business, and his oldest son is already playing an active role in the firm. Continuity is evident elsewhere too: what was originally the workshop has recently been converted into a light-flooded residence that doubles as a showroom. It treats visitors and customers alike to a casual and very convincing demonstration of the company's conceptual prowess. At its calm centre is a large table.

With the design and production of its new "Belfakto" table collection, Willi Notte is not just following its passion for furniture making; it is establishing a second mainstay for the company as well. The collection consists of six solid wood tables that come with a choice of eight tabletop shapes and customisable measurements (length: 180 to 350 cm, width: 90 to 130 cm). The "Xenia" model promptly won the Interior Innovation Award 2013 and, in its maximum size, is a firm favourite with customers.

The "Belfakto" tables are just as suitable for private settings as they are for contract interiors. The wood and finish can also be chosen to suit individual tastes. Many years of reflecting on the perception, identity, design, functionality, sensuousness and meaningfulness of furniture have given rise to the sophisticated constructions of the expressive bases, and – in the case of "Xenia" – the combination with an asymmetrical top. Willi Notte laid the foundations for his current designs with the piece he created for his master craftsman's certificate back in 1988. Craftsmanship, design and continuity: the words sound like a manifesto.
