In order to capture the soul of marble for its new collection, ATLAS CONCORDE visited the town of Pietrasanta to collaborate with Savema – a company with marble in its veins.

×The best ideas are often the result of intense collaboration between people with a shared vision and passion. When Atlas Concorde decided it wanted to create a range of high-quality porcelain tiles inspired by the finest white Italian marbles, it went direct to Savema – one of the world’s leading suppliers of these precious stones.
Savema is based in Pietrasanta in the heart of Italy’s marble-producing region, where it controls the production of three quarries and specialises in sourcing premium stone from local and international suppliers. Through conversations with Savema’s experts, Atlas Concorde was able to understand how the processes it developed to manufacture the popular Marvel collection could be used to accurately replicate white marbles in fine detail.

בWe asked ourselves, how can we improve a programme as successful as Marvel?’ recalls Atlas Concorde CEO, Maurizio Mazzotti. ‘The answer came naturally; by collaborating with those who have marble coursing through their veins and who have used marble to create some of the most iconic projects in the world.’
The team chose to focus on Calacatta and Statuario marble sourced from the Luni quarries in the famous Carrara region. The marble varieties chosen for the Marvel Shine collection are neutral but full of character, with cool, white surfaces brought to life by grey, beige and gold veins that give the stones their familiar graphic quality.

×No one knows more about the special characteristics of white marble than Savema, and its collaboration with Atlas Concorde has resulted in a product that combines the best of marble with the best of high-performance ceramics. ‘We were delighted to place our experience at the service of Atlas Concorde because they respect natural marble,’ adds Savema CEO, Fabrizio Palla. ‘Together we created an exceptional ceramic marble tile that we too will use for our projects around the world.’
