THE APERTA COLLECTION

Inspired by the mystery and attraction of light and space breaking through narrow architectural voids, the Aperta collection was designed by Aad Bos for Mokko. The Aperta collection was launched during Milan Design Week 2025 at group exhibition GOOD SELECTION, held in a former furniture factory nearby Alcova.

Each object of the Aperta collection features manually adaptable legs, allowing for various configurations that alter the object’s expression within a space. A precise, sculptural slit runs through each object, adding a sense of lightness to its solid form.

Captivated by the attraction and trend transcending quality of archetypes in the built environment, Aad has adopted these primitive shapes at the core of Mokko’s design language. Archetypical elements are balanced, weighed and stripped from excess, until the essence of the inspiration is translated into a sculptural object that is emotionally resonant.

Crafted in the Netherlands from solid European oak or American walnut, the collection embodies Mokko’s commitment to timeless quality and local craftsmanship. Every object is made-to-order by skilled artisans, with careful attention to detail, durability, and sustainability. Through close collaboration with local makers, Mokko ensures both quality and supports the preservation
of Dutch craftsmanship.

The collection is on display at the studio of Mokko in Amsterdam and soon available via the galleries representing Mokko internationally.
