A pop of colour has the power to inject character into space. It’s a form of expression that can create a lasting impression – be it one of warmth, happiness, calm or exhilaration.
French outdoor design specialists Fermob are in the business of encouraging as much expression as possible. Balancing tradition and modernity, the palette features one to three new colours each year, while the classics continue to be refined.
The 24 colours of the palette are exclusively developed by the in-house colour team. Though it is always evolving, the number of colours available always remains at an accessible 24 choices, with the option of crafting custom colours too.
‘Opaline green’ is Fermob’s latest addition. The pale, minty pastel shade is subtle and natural, yet also refreshing and punchy. Pastels hold particular appeal to Fermob. They respond to contemporary trends, yet are also guaranteed to be durable, timeless and always match up to the rest of the palette.
Showing how colour can help design communicate, the Opaline green colour is a happy match for the Airloop collection designed by Frédéric Sofia. Both colour and design feel lightweight, upbeat and charming. Showing off Fermob’s industrial expertise in metal, the slender curves of the Airloop chair’s steel wire-work are linked with hand-forged rings.
A visit to Fermob’s production facility reveals how the colour is applied. The environmentally friendly, solvent-free powder paint, is hand-sprayed onto the metal products. A layer of colour brings personality, but also protects the metal against scratches, corrosion, and UV rays. For the graceful Airloop chair, Opaline green really is the icing on the cake.
