I like to move it, move it!: SIGEL

Lively, flexible, mobile: the world of work is becoming increasingly dynamic. This reality brings with it numerous positive effects such as the release of positive energy, new potential, as well as unprecedented independence that allows us to work and live in completely new rhythms and cycles. And since a large part of the day is filled with work, it is precisely in this realm that the effects of this newly gained flexibility are seen most, while also radiating into other areas of our lives.

Being able to choose when, how and where you work is not only incredibly practical, it can also trigger a surge of motivation, which, in the best case scenario, results in higher productivity and creativity. With a mobile workplace, workers enjoy greater freedom of choice. Being able to choose whether to work at home or on the road, in the office, in the café around the corner, in the park in the fresh air or anywhere else you like, results in a high level of freedom and self-determination with highly positive effects. From this perspective, New Work expert SIGEL has made it its business to turn a ‘must’ into a ‘can’.

We are not talking about an A4-sized laptop that you can quickly slip under your arm however, but rather, MOVE IT, a mobile office system that promotes and supports agile and flexible working. Studies show that 72 per cent of German companies already offer their employees flexible working, and in return, they feel much more committed and satisfied – not least because they get more exercise. Within the framework of desk-sharing, co-working and activity-based working concepts, 29 per cent of all rooms used as multi-purpose spaces are already being used with flexible workplaces.

SIGEL now brings even more movement into this scenario. With MOVE IT, all work materials and tools can be easily taken to the place chosen as the next workstation in a compact, securely locked, hygienically protected manner – and not only in the office, but also in the home office or a completely different location.

Built-up as a kind of modular system, the smallest MOVE IT element is the sturdy Office Box S, which can be taken everywhere as a faithful companion. Equipped with a shoulder strap, lockable and with a name tag, it can even be stored in a waterproof backpack for easy transport. The ‘big sister’ of the MOVE IT Office Box S is ‘L’ – a small cabinet, which is also equipped with a combination lock and letter tray.

Both models are already available in very small editions in customer-specific CI, or other colours. The light and manoeuvrable Office Caddy Workplace on wheels, which can be fitted with the Office Boxes in sizes S and L via a simple plug-in mechanism, provides more convenience when transporting the Office Boxes within the office. Depending on the size constellation, up to five boxes on either side can be transported all at once.

SIGEL has not only thought about pure function, however, it has also kept the style factor in focus. For MOVE IT, it has brought together two design styles – Rational Precision and Dynamic Edge – where functional, geometric forms meet flowing, convex and concave contours. Their well-balanced appearance is rounded off with practical accessories such as rubber holders for accessories like pens and mobile phones, as well as practical document compartments.

SIGEL’s MOVE IT mobile office is thinking ahead in terms of New Work, and not least in terms of sustainability. During production, all surplus material, such as edge trimmings and the like, is collected and sorted according to type, and then fed back into the raw material cycle – achieving a recycling rate of 92 per cent. MOVE IT itself is largely dismantlable and reusable, and any raw materials that SIGEL cannot recycle itself are returned to suppliers for recycling there.

‘Making life easy’ is the motto here: a sophisticated system combines daily necessity with a dash of style. Here, function and design meet in harmony, a fact underlined, not least, by numerous awards such as the German Innovation Award. The MOVE IT mini office is a kind of basic building block in the world of New Work, because, no matter whether someone decides to operate from their home office, the regular office, or a combination of both: independence of location is guaranteed.
