Created by Milanese architecture firm Studio Tenca & Associati – one of Tecnografica's design partners – J50 is an apartment devised as a series of functional, contiguous spaces for a family of four. Arches and curtains have been utilised throughout the home to create connections and soft divisions, allowing a freedom of movement without compromising on privacy.

Colour is another device that links the spaces to one another: ‘The powder-blue wall in the living room connects with the powder-pink walls in the dining room, which, in turn, introduces the grey niche in the kitchen,’ explains architect Emilio Tenca. 'Green is a main colour too, thanks to different plants placed around the house, giving personality, energy, and a "healthy touch” to the whole environment.’
This is the context for Fitzcarraldo, a wallcovering from Tecnografica that features lush, tropical leaves in shades of green. Created by Italian illustrator Marco Fontana, who has been working with Tecnografica since 2015, the pattern is part of the brand's Arts Collections and is inspired by early explorers of the Amazon rainforest.

Fitzcarraldo is used in the kitchen of the J50 project to emphasise the connection to nature that is one of the guiding principles behind the interior design. Tenca selected Tecnografica's TNT technical wallpaper for the project, adding a structured, mottled effect that introduces additional texture and detail to the space. ‘The wallpaper completes the picture,’ said Tenca.
