A is for chair: BRUNNER

Jürgen Laub and Markus Jehs still remember the briefing they received from Brunner: ‘Do what you want. Think how you want. Just make us a stackable theatre chair for the 21st century.’ So, the prestigious design duo took full advantage of this freedom and created a chair that everyone understands, that can do everything and, above all, a chair that they would buy for themselves. After all, jehs+laub always look for the best of all possible solutions.

In this case, the beautifully shaped A embodies the lateral silhouette of the chair and thus reveals one of its strengths at a glance – it can be stacked upright. But the elegant A-Chair with its slender legs also looks great placed in a row. Not to mention its perfect seat. This serene, unmistakable classic has already won a number of awards and feels particularly comfortable when it has lots of company – for example in an open-plan office, a theatre or a canteen.

With a wooden or plastic shell, an aluminium or plastic frame and an additional armrest in two versions, it offers a wide range of possible combinations. And for the upholstery, too, there are no fewer than 38 types of fabric and leather in over 940 colours to choose from.

No wonder that there is now an entire collection surrounding the A-Chair, ranging from the A-Bench and A-Lounge to the A-Table and A-Desk. All of them anything but ordinary.
