Concetto
WA by Toan Nguyen is a contemporary collection of dining tables with sculptural appeal. Designed in dynamic lines, the die-cast aluminum legs of the longest table have been repositioned to now seat up to eight diners. WA tables are available in three different sizes and a wide choice of tabletops consisting of HPL, glass or teak. They are complemented perfectly by all DEDON armchairs. Nguyen, a designer renowned for his technical mastery and refined contemporary sensibility, originally conceived WA as the dining extension of MU, his highly successful outdoor lounge system for DEDON. Despite their similarities, however, the latter has emerged as compelling collection of dining tables in its own right. Ultralight in appearance yet strong and sturdy, WA has a distinct sense of presence. The dining tables feature casted aluminum legs in the choice of three colors and sizes and can seat up between four to eight diners. The tabletops come in three versions: HPL, glass and solid, slatted teak. The HPL version of the tabletops is available in white, lipari or black pepper. The glass version in lipari glass or black pepper glass. WA dining tables are perfectly complemented by all DEDON armchairs, especially those of the collections AIIR, MBRACE, PLAY, BARCELONA, PANAMA or SEASHELL.

Graduating from the ENSCI (Paris) in 1995, Toan Nguyen pursued his training in Barcelona with Alberto Lievore. A couple of years after moving to Milan in 1996, he collaborated with Antonio Citterio for a decade. As Head of the Design Department and Partner, he co-signed numerous collections for leading design companies worldwide. In 2009 he founded his own studio in Milan, subsequently embarking on a series of successful collaborations with several major brands in high-quality industry and fine craftmanship in Europe, North America, and Asia, on furniture, lighting, ceramics, as well as on technological products. For Toan Nguyen design is a discipline intimately bound up with the object, in the traditional sense of the term. Priority is given to physical relationships with users. Displaying an immediate sense of meaningful utilization, precedence is accorded to intelligible forms and optimized manufacturing processes, without, however, ever neglecting the sensuality of materials and the emotional impact of the object. Toan Nguyen's creative individuality has been acknowledged by flagship contemporary design brands such as Dedon, Fendi Casa, Laufen, Rolf Benz, Vibia, Wendelbo, Brown Jordan, Coalesse, District Eight, RH, Studio TK, Lema, Viccarbe, Walter Knoll, among others, a substantial number of whose creations have been awarded prestigious international prizes.
