This italian marble is extracted in Tuscany, in the centre of Italy, from quarries near the Carrara area. This precious stone is originated by a metamorphic process in sedimentary rocks. The darkish grey veins on the ivory background make Statuario very elegant and suitable for contemporary or traditional indoor projects. Known since the roman empire this marble is appreciated for the glossiness and the regularity of the pattern. A lot of designers choose Statuario because of the elegant irregular and contrasted veinings.
