Geboren wurde Rainer Bachschmid 1966 in Süddeutschland. Nach seiner Ausbildung als Schreiner studierte er in Wuppertal Industrie Design. Danach arbeitete er in diversen namhaften Designbüros und wechselte in die Schweizer Möbelindustrie. 2007 hat Rainer Bachschmid sein eigenes Designstudio gegründet. Seither arbeitet er an massgeschneiderten Produktdesign und Innenarchitektur Lösungen. Seit 2019 ist Rainer Bachschmid Gast-Dozent im Bereich Architektur an der Hochschule für Technik, Wirtschaft, Architektur und Gestaltung in Konstanz. Rainer Bachschmid ist erfolgreicher Produktdesigner - unter anderem für namhafte Produzenten wie wagner, STERN®, WOAK, Artisan und Team by Wellis.
