Marie Lounge Chair: A welcome.

Marie is not just a chair, but also a gesture- and since this spring also a lounge chair.

Whoever wants to ride on the 2023 for the first time Hoffmann Kahleyss Design developed the Freifrau-Marie chair, developed by Hoffmann Kahleyss, has arrived- in the here and now. The openness of the design is reminiscent of the arms outstretched in greeting arms of a familiar person and conveys a sense of security.

This gesture is emphasised in the the spacious lounge version of Marie, the comfort of which is enhanced by an integrated rocker-tilt mechanism on the side. The armchair is also characterised by the loose upholstery of the backrest shell, which is held in place by a filigree tubular steel bracket. In contrast to the chair, the frame is detached from the the statics of the frame, which is based on a central column with a cross base. With the introduction of the 4-legged base, the lounge models in the collection have a new look.

The new design is complemented by a matching footstool. The frame of the armchair and ottoman is available in all Double Brand colours, as usual, there is a wide selection of fabrics and leather for the upholstery, which can also be customised.

Concetto

The latest model by Hoffmann Kahleyss Design for Freifrau Manufaktur is more than just a chair: it‘s a statement! When you sit down on the Freifrau Marie chair, you’ve arrived – arrived in the here and now. The casually crumpled upholstery of its seating shell is nothing short of an invitation to sit down, lean back, and switch off – or to communicate, to exchange ideas, to be social. Either way, the design is open, receptive, like a pair of arms stretched out to give someone familiar a welcoming hug. Yes, Marie is a safe haven. In design terms, the chair is defined by the relaxed upholstery style of its shell, nestling in a delicate steel-tube frame whose rear bar pinches the back of the cushion along the middle, underscoring Marie’s laid-back appearance. As is the case with Freifrau pieces, there is a variety of fabric and leather coverings available to respond to all tastes, from the classic to the extravagant, and the covering for the shell is zipped on and then screwed to the frame as part of the seat. By the same token, it can be unscrewed and changed – and when it reaches the end of its service life, the chair can easily be separated back out into its individual parts.
