Sol

SOL is an urban seat in Slimconcrete (UHPC) polymer cast stone. Its shape is an evocation of a flower petal that can track the sun´s movement. This individual seat can swivel at will, giving the user 360 degrees of liberty. SOL is anchored to the pavement or a recessed footing beneath a soft surface, with a single central base. It weighs just 35 kg. in conjunction with the swivelling seat. It has maintenance-free nylon bearings, and the lack of a porous surface facilitates graffiti removal. Remaining vertical without affecting its ergonomic comfort, this seat is suitable for sloping pavements. Installed individually or in groups, SOL fills public spaces with the possibility of different viewpoints. It is produced in two colours, white and dark grey. SOL was designed for Escofet in 2005 by designer Diego Fortunato.
