Bench Gabi

The solid-looking concrete bench Gabi surprises with its light weight. Its secret lies in the thin concrete slabs from which it is made.

To manufacture it, 13 mm thick concrete slabs are cut to size and glued together at a mitre. This creates a solid-looking hollow block that is as stable and robust as a bench cast entirely from concrete, but much lighter at just 65 kg and 240 cm long.
