As a result in 1958 the designer association SWISS DESIGN came into being, founded by the Swiss gentlemen Hans Eichenberger, Robert and Peter Haussmann, Theo Jakob and Kurt Thut- who, like the Bauhaus artists, were both architects and designers. Their aim: designs in metal furniture suitable for large-scale production. In 1999, de Sede took over manufacture and marketing of the stimulating design created by SWISS DESIGN.
