An unusual and effective dynamic is created when traditional leather craftsmanship and a playful, experimental approach to design come together. Sweeping wave-like forms characterize the DS-808, designed by atelier oï, which makes the furniture particularly appealing and expressive. Its sinuous form pushes the boundaries of materials design and is created by placing the leather onto a curved structure like a throw, which creates a sophisticated interplay of light and shadow.
The flowing design of the furniture creates an especially original and authentic look – allowing it to express itself in a unique, autonomous, and refreshingly different way.

Founded in 1991 in La Neuveville, Switzerland, by Aurel Aebi, Armand Louis and Patrick Reymond, today atelier oï is one of the most internationally renowned Swiss design offices. The name oï is derived from the Russian word “troïka”, which means a carriage drawn by three horses. The designers use the middle section of this word to represent the idea behind their collaboration – a creative triumvirate driving projects forward. The transdisciplinary atelier, based in the Moïtel (a former 1960s motel), is a creative place that unites intellectual expertise and craftsmanship. The work of the internationally sought-after designers ranges from architecture and interior design to product design and scenography.
