Sonelo Design Studio

Sonelo Design Studio is a multi-disciplinary design practice established in 2013 and has sedulously developed an aggregation of bespoke designs in architecture, interior, installation and object. Sonelo holds strong belief in stripping back to a state of the authentic need of the occupant. Often inspired by everyday beauty and simplicity, we create places that benefit life. Drawing on the act of inhabiting spaces through evocative sensibility of touch and feel, we explores design in the multi-layered realms of briefs, site, form, texture, materiality, landscape and their tectonics.

In each project undertaken, we approach it as a unique living being, responding specifically to the site and occupants. Through discussions with client, we listen and review the purpose and possibilities of a place we are about to create together. We adopt a collaborative process between the clients, consultants and contractor to ensure an outcome with vigour.
Wilson Tang is a registered architect with the ARBV. He completed his Bachelor of Planning and Design (Architecture) in 2005 and Master of Architecture in 2008 at the University of Melbourne.

Prior to establishing Sonelo, he spent nine years honing his skills in a well-regarded architectural and interior practice. Wilson has also taught at the University of Melbourne.As founding director of Sonelo, Wilson is an assuring voice of spatial planning and problem solving. His calm mien, as a listener and analyser, is the key to design success in each bespoke projects Sonelo has undertaken. He leads and nurtures his students and team by provoking a highly detailed thought process from inception of design to project procurement.

In his spare time Wilson gets his hand (and heart) cooking delicious food to share and his legs pedalling the road bike. You might sometimes bump into him in bushwalking trails or design seminars and galleries too!
