When the computer of a colleague of mine crashed a few days ago in the middle of an image processing operation sized several gigabytes, his only response was a big smile.

When a few hours' Photoshop work all of a sudden goes down the pan because the computer freezes or even begins to emit worrying droning noises what you normally hear is either a despairing cry for help or a burst of foul language. This is generally what happens.

But when the computer of a colleague of mine crashed a few days ago in the middle of an image processing operation sized several gigabytes, his only response was a big smile. He quickly called me over to inspect the unique aesthetic results of his digital collapse. As the computer was still busy stacking the various images, the colour blends were changing every five seconds – producing a display of colours which it would be impossible to create yourself. A camera was quickly put into action in order to capture these unrepeatable compositions.
