Life’s a beach: Duravit

Anyone who has had the good fortune to visit the beaches of New England may find it hard to imagine how one might translate the feelings of this wild natural environment into the space of a few square metres. This is just what designer Philippe Starck has achieved for Duravit, his expertise once again coming to the fore. His Cape Cod series conveys freedom even in small spaces and offers relaxation for body, mind and soul.

With new elements, Starck provides inspiring possibilities for the design of small bathrooms. The small, freestanding bathtub blends harmoniously into the room while looking as spacious as a larger model. Neither does it make any compromise in terms of comfort. Its sloping back has a gently shaped headrest and the high-quality DuraSolid® material ensures that the surface has a pleasant feel.

The minimalist design of the washbasin also makes an impression. The combination of fine, glossy white ceramic with the floor-standing chrome frame is unusual and yet appears classically elegant. That the simple design requires little space, offers storage space and conveys lightness almost goes without saying with the Cape Cod series.

What all Starck designs have in common are clean, clear forms as well as the highest quality. For example, the models in the Cape Cod series can be ideally combined with WCs and bidets from the Starck 1, Starck 2 and ME by Starck series.
