The total transparency

One front opens to the courtyard with a pool, the other site in the direction of Lake Constance - the detached house on one of the most desirable lakeside estates offers breathtaking views with stunning glass surfaces.
"The geometry of the building should tell a story," explains architect Mona Bayr. "And every geometric feature of the house has a functional or energetic background: From the structure of the balcony on the north side to the canopy on the south side.” In just one year, the perfectly thought out planning was completed. The basic form of the building consists of a rectangular cube. Like a box, the upper floor lies on the ground floor. In addition, the house was kept as transparent as possible to the north and south, which gives the whole building extra light.
Thanks to the large glass surfaces, the view of Lake Constance falls from almost every corner of the house. The water characterizes the entire object with its different facets. The high visibility to both the lake and land side transforms the building into two floors which almost feel like terraces due to the large cero panels. "The builders wished to feel the lake from as many positions as possible," says the young architect further on her design. "That's how the idea arose not to position the glass elements directly on the edge of the building, but to set something in place."

Lake view par excellence

When choosing the fronts, the architect and the builders opted for a sash sliding door that enables particularly large glass surfaces with slim profile views of 34 millimeters: cero by Solarlux. The installed elements give a total area of 140 square meters. On the west side they do not connect at right angles with the walls, but rejuvenate towards the ceiling. On the ground floor alone, the window surface of 9.20 meters width provides wide panoramic views. At the same time there is also a generous opening here. The three windows upstairs also provide a wide view. On the lake side, cero visually opens a total width of 10.60 meters.
Even the wind gusts from the lake don’t affect the cero due to high tightness. Equipped with a triple glazing, the sliding door even complies with the passive house. The electrical locking ensures that the cero can be operated from the inside as well as from the outside and can be securely closed. The sliding door does not provide an entrance for uninvited guests, which confirms the high burglar resistance, certified with the RC3 certification.
