The major highlight of the Beijing Chateau is a flexible layout, dominated by a dynamic sculpture, which develops from the twisted staircase, continues into the ceiling, transforms into walls, morphs into counters and becomes volumetric shelter for private rooms, separating these from the public reception areas. Open fluidum and massive interior of the Mega-Sculpture intertwine and create an ambiguity tying both opponents together.

As a showroom for a project of large scale apartments, graft developed a flexible layout, dominated by an dynamic sculpture which separates the private rooms from the public reception areas. By semitransparent space dividers, carved in association to Chinese lattice patterns, the apartment can be shifted within seconds between an all open entertainment facility and an intimate family home.

The Duplex Unit combines a master bedroom on a gallery level with a representative apartment as living lounge along the façade ending in the private office.

Two additional guest bedrooms are hidden behind a continuous sculpted wall with semi-transparent carved-out relief doors. Once opened, these doors extend the two guest rooms to the façade and cut them off from the open floorplan allowing for extreme flexibility between privacy and representation.

In addition to the enclosed Chinese kitchen, the apartment provides a European kitchen with bar counter open to the living area.

A sculptural open stair is leading up to the private master bedroom with terrace and library as an extension to the main representative areas.
