BRUS X FREDERICIA – AN EXPERIENCE FOR ALL SENSES
In an old locomotive factory in Copenhagen, BRUS have started the engines running again. The 750m2 craft brewery houses a variety of experiences for their guests - from brewing to kegging, cooking and shopping, dining and drinking. Notably, the beer travels less than 20 metres from cask to glass to produce the freshest brew possible.

A CAREFULLY CHOSEN INTERIOR COMPLETES THE EXPERIENCE
To accentuate these experiences, BRUS selected two iconic chairs designed by master architect Børge Mogensen for the brewery's interior, the Søborg chair and J39.
Both chairs are crafted from honest materials that age beautifully even in high-traffic, social environments, which goes hand-in-hand with the brewery’s dedication to authenticity and quality. The natural tones of the light wood and paper chord provide a perfect pairing to the white decor, creating a clean and inviting ambience. Furthermore, the thin profile of the chairs creates a beautiful contrast to the thick cut-outs of the wooden booths; further accommodating guests with a range of visually exciting seating options.

Børge Mogensen designed the Søborg chair in 1950 when participating in a contemporary furniture exhibition curated at the MoMA in New York. His innovative technique involved fusing plywood shells with his signature solid wood craftsmanship, an endeavour that proved a challenge for the technology of the time.

Today, the Søborg chair is available with a fully upholstered seat and back; enriching this iconic piece with the highest levels of comfort to accommodate an array of activities from socialising to working. Furthermore, the options of frames, finishes and upholstery allow for a highly customised aesthetic, allowing the chair to fit into any interior setting - from classic to contemporary.

The iconic chair J39 designed in 1947 features frame in solid oak and a handwoven seat in paper cord. The durable and sturdy, yet refined construction of J39 makes it the perfect choice for a multitude of uses. Today, both new and vintage versions of the chair are found in universities, cafés, restaurants, hotels and residential homes all over the world, infusing every project with a sophisticated and cosmopolitan appearance. Several frames and seat finishes that gravitate from light to dark allowing the chair to fit into every interior design from classic, to bold and creative.
