Beauty Shoppe, the Pittsburgh-based coworking company that is setting a new standard for a service-oriented workplace, today announces the opening of its first offering in Cleveland: Beauty Shoppe Seymour Building, located at 2529 Detroit Ave in Ohio City. Starting with 10,000 square feet within a beautifully restored historic building, the design-forward location introduces a collaborative workspace to one of the city’s most dynamic neighborhoods.

“With Beauty Shoppe Seymour Building we set out to create a new home for Cleveland’s innovative, forward-thinking businesses,” said Zachary Ciccone, Head of Growth at Beauty Shoppe. “We are excited to put down roots in Cleveland in the Ohio City neighborhood – which is full of entrepreneurs and creatives and is perfectly aligned with our own ethos. We look forward to integrating our coworking hub into the community and fostering business relationships and growth.”

Located in the rapidly transforming Ohio City neighborhood, where arts, culture, and emerging business collide, Beauty Shoppe Seymour Building is introducing a new collaborative workspace for Ohio City’s visionary force to call home. The space combines the hospitality of a boutique hotel with the services of a best-in-class professional office space all in one exquisitely designed environment.

Originally constructed in 1876 and formerly home to Ohio City’s beloved Kiefer’s Restaurant, the Seymour Building has a long tradition of bringing people together, and Beauty Shoppe will uphold that legacy. The Seymour Building features light-drenched interior spaces with soaring ceilings and Bavarian influenced design.

Beauty Shoppe has drawn inspiration from the building’s rich history as a community gathering spot to thoughtfully reimagine the expansive coworking space with locally sourced materials and an eye towards craftsmanship. Rosy-hued elements are complemented with deep blue fabrics and light-stained floors.

Original structural elements were restored to preserve the building’s heritage, and are juxtaposed with abstract furniture and artwork, including pieces from local Cleveland artist Lauren Noel that are sure to be a catalyst for interaction and creativity. True to the company’s commitment to quality and honoring community, Beauty Shoppe worked with local artisans on the restoration and partnered with furniture maker Bones & All to create custom furnishings.

A garden of greenery in vintage vases and planters, sourced from local greenhouse Plantscaping and florist Urban Orchid, is spread throughout. Members enter through a private entrance on Detroit Ave. The ground floor space includes a variety of areas for members to create and ideate – including a generous offering of breakout spaces, conference rooms, traditional desks, communal tables and curated lounge areas, in addition to a variety of private offices.

Every square inch of Beauty Shoppe Seymour Building has been thoughtfully designed and programmed to promote a productive, genuine work experience for individuals and teams, from seamlessly integrated technologies including Crestron conferencing equipment to ergonomic seating that ensures the highest level of comfort.

Members will also enjoy hospitality service delivered by an expert staff that can help with everything from arranging catered lunches for an important meeting to, coordinating accommodations for guests. Beauty Shoppe is known for its thoughtful and hospitalitydriven staff who go above and beyond to ensure a beautiful experience for each individual member, and the Seymour Building is no exception.

As part of the community, those who call Beauty Shoppe Seymour Building their office home will also benefit from a forthcoming menu of member and community programs tailored specifically for Ohio City creators, makers, and innovators.

Exclusive programming includes continuing education and lifelong learning classes, in-house yoga and wellness offerings, discounted access to regional associations, and other specialized offerings designed to support professionals in meeting their creative and professional goals.

“Beauty Shoppe is proud to create not just offices – but secondary spaces in people’s lives that enhance their overall well-being and therefore foster greater work. We have obsessively curated an extensive list of membership benefits that enhance an individual’s day-to-day lifestyle, therefore fostering overall community growth,” said Annelise Lopez, community manager at Beauty Shoppe Seymour Building. “We are thrilled to bring the Beauty Shoppe standard of impeccable hospitality and wholehearted service to this new coworking space in Ohio City.”

Adjacent to the coworking space is a 2,000 square foot Flex lounge and sustainably-minded café called Foyer, that is open to the public. Far from your typical coffee shop, Foyer is a design-forward destination with a menu featuring coffee from Brooklyn-based Parlor Coffee – including $1 drip coffees – and light fare curated through partnerships with local farms, artisans and restaurants.

Foyer is working with The Plum, a Cleveland culinary staple known for hip and sensible American fare, to create a special Friday "pop-up" lunch menu, and Ohio City Provisions has crafted a full menu of seasonal lunch offerings highlighting ingredients from local farms, including Wholesome Valley Farm which supplies all of the cafe's milk. Foyer, as the name implies, serves as a secondary entrance to the coworking space.

Hanging between the two spaces is a dramatic custom drapery, created specially for Foyer by Leah Patgorski, a Pittsburgh-based designer. The Seymour Building, with Beauty Shoppe and Foyer, is a focal point of The Quarter, the highlyanticipated mixed-use development project from local developers The Snavely Group that is reviving a key intersection between downtown and the near west side of Cleveland.

Set for completion this year, The Quarter is poised to become an important lifestyle destination and cultural anchor for Ohio City, a neighborhood home to eclectic restaurants and bars, West Side Market, and Ohio City Farm, one of the country’s oldest urban farms.

The development also includes the Forrest Bank Building, which will house an innovative restaurant “incubator” by the Galley Group that will complement the culinary options at Foyer. This food hall is connected to Beauty Shoppe giving members direct access to a vast array of culinary options presented by a rotating line up of local chefs.

Come fall, Beauty Shoppe is excited to open additional coworking space across the street. Coworking, Desk and Office Memberships are available for monthly rental on a first-come, first-served basis and start at $175 per month. All members enjoy 24/7/365 access to secure work and meeting space, Beauty Shoppe office hospitality services, and priority event space booking. Memberships for both individuals and companies include reciprocal access to work and meeting areas across the national Beauty Shoppe network.
