Concept
Originally designed by Mel Smilow in 1956 and officially reintroduced by his daughter Judy Smilow in 2013, the Rush Collection is classically mid-century. This collection’s handwoven seating and handcrafted wooden frame provide a comfortable and relaxing sit. The simplistic beauty, fine craftsmanship, and exceptional detail is present from every angle. Made in America since 1949, Smilow® Furniture defines: Enduring Modern Classics.
Included in the Rush Collection is a side /dining chair, a dining arm chair, a lounge chair with matching ottoman, bench, and a day bed, designed by Judy Smilow and added in 2014.
The Rush Collection is solid walnut with a natural finish and handwoven rush seat. Dimensions, wood type, and color of rush can be customized.
