Tuftit

The Tuftit bench makes use of ultra high-performance Ductal concrete in an upholstery application. The irregular, complex topography of the seat surface, which reinterprets traditional diamond-tufted leather, exploits the unusual elastic and lightweight properties of the high tech construction material. One of the solid wax cast-bronze legs projects up near a corner of the seat, emphasizing the contrast between the bench’s matte and glossy materials.

Tuftit, available exclusively at Maison Gerard, was developed in collaboration with Toronto-based architecture firm Partisans.
