Concept
Three-dimensional modular shelving system.
The modules of the Crate shelf can be composed in full freedom of alignment and orientation. This three-dimensional predicate uncloses applications inaccessible to the typological wall-form: Choreographed "movements" and sophisticated access paths are as easily realised as more "ordinary" setups- without loss of use value. Together with a nuanced palette of colours, the system gives architects an immense freedom in elaborating and coordinating the storage piece as an active design element.
With a clear height of 334 mm (13.1"), the shelf is proportioned for office use. Stacking heights include the construction of under-desk units (72 cm/28.3") and side surfaces for standing working positions (90 cm/35.4").
