HIVE

The collection takes inspiration from the mathematical patterns from the natural world, where one of the most recurring is that of the honeycomb. This pattern consists of the repetition of a regular polygon – the hexagon – along a grid. The HIVE collection is a pattern that seeks to reflect this complexity in the spaces of our built environment. Furthermore, the proposal looks to find a balance between the visual complexity of a nature-inspired design that could be customizable, with the regularity of a mathematical tessellation compatible with an efficient manufacturing process. Likewise, the variance in size and tones allows for the pattern to easily be adapted and customized to any setting, creating a subtle gradient that suggests a desired path or accentuates a space.
