Dans la maison japonaise, on évolue dans une atmosphère paisible, tant par les couleurs, les lignes des murs, la circulation des flux que par le rôle de chaque objet. la déconnexion aux choses matérielles, superficielles est reine. on se satisfait du peu et surtout des objets essentiels: c’est l’art de la simplicité. avec ce fauteuil relax, la beauté minimale est proportionnée à la perfection. les volumes suivent les fonctions, comme on le retrouve avec les cales reins et l’appuie-tête. le piétement est replié sur lui-même. takeuchi a tout dessiné, jusqu’au moindre détail. cela nous a imposé d’inventer de nouvelles techniques de collage en particulier au niveau de la têtière. le rendu ainsi que le confort atteignent la perfection du dessin.

Born in Fukuoka, Japan 1977. At age of 15, Keiji Takeuchi moved to New Zealand where he spent his youth. In 1999 while studying at an art school in New Zealand, he moved to Paris for a scholarship study at ENSCI / Les Ateliers. In 2003 he returned to Japan and since 2005 he has been a designer at Naoto Fukasawa Design ltd in Tokyo. In 2012, Takeuchi decided to move and to set up and lead a satellite office for Fukasawa in Milan. In 2014, Takeuchi started freelancing personal projects alongside his role for Fukasawa’s studio. During the same year, Takeuchi was selected by Giulio Cappellini as one of upcoming designers and in 2015 he worked on an installation project at KBIS Las Vegas for the Italian natural stone company Antolini in collaboration with him. This collaboration with G.Cappellini continues and Cappellini once again selected Takeuchi to participate to a project with Ceramica Flaminia for its 60th anniversary. This project was introduced during Milano salone 2015. In 2016 Takeuchi set up keiji takeuchi srls. Today Takeuchi is collaborating with various international brands such as Boffi, Amorim, Antolini, Henrytimi, and Flaminia while simultaneously following European and western design projects for Naoto Fukasawa. In 2016 after 2 years of Freelance work, Takeuchi established his design office in Milan. The office is focused on product design development from electronics to furniture. Currently working with international brands such as Boffi, Amorim, Antolini, Henrytimi, and Flaminia and the range of projects is expanding.
