Structure in metal with satin, chrome, black chrome, burnished or glossy anthracite color finish; or, in matt lacquered finish in the same color as the cowhide upholstery: white 160, sand 310, olive 506, tobacco 515, Bulgarian red 508, dark brown 504, extra dark brown 513, grey 503, black 655. Padding in crushproof, single-density polyurethane and inserts in thermoplastic material.
Upholstery in cowhide in these colors: white 5007, sand 5001, olive 5006, tobacco 5015, Bulgarian red 5008, dark brown 5004, extra dark brown 5013, grey 5003, black 5005.
Only for bar stool: metal footrest in the same color as the structure.
Feet in turned aluminum. Feet rest on tips made of thermoplastic material.
Upholstery is not removable.
Concept
In Japanese, the word Haiku defines the particular composition of a type of verse, one that is touching in its spontaneity, apparent simplicity, and freedom from rhetoric and artifice.
This approach is linked in some ways to the design concept which underlies the family of Haiku seating elements: a labor of painstaking detail that progresses by subtraction to arrive at the essence of the design but that calls for masterful execution and an almost obsessive attention to every constructive detail.
Cowhide was the natural choice in which to make this product ‒ an extremely fascinating material, flexible but also durable ‒ used to tailor the understated upholstery for the seat, backrest and armrests and fits the underlying metal structure like a glove, available in a number of elegant finishes.

Biography Christophe Pillet Graduated from the Decorative Arts School in Nice in 1985, Master of Domus Academy, Milano, in 1986. He worked with Martine Bedin in Milano for two years (1986-1988). He started his own agency in 1993 and has been working independently ever since. His first furniture were produced by XO in 1991. He now engages in many fields: product and furniture design, interior decoration, architecture, scenography and artistic direction. He creates furniture and objects for Cappellini, Daum, JC Decaux, Driade, Ecart International, L’Oréal, Lacoste, Moroso, Porro, Renault, Serralunga, Shiseido, Shu Uemura, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, Whirlpool… He also realises interior architecture for boutiques, hotels and restaurants such as the very hip Hôtel Sezz in Paris.
