Concept
Philippe Bestenheider puts his name to a collection of fine, elegant vases for Driade. A tall vase, a medium vase and a table centre cup, with sophisticated matt white, matt black and gold finishes.
“The shape of the GEAR vases is a play on geometry, based on the shape of gears.
The same gear shape crosses vertically and horizontally, to create the three-dimensional surface of these vases. Put together, these containers mesh perfectly, like the gears in a mechanism”.
Porcelain vases in four versions:
1- matt white outside and glossy white inside 2- matt black outside and glossy black inside 3- matt blue outside and glossy red inside
4- glossy gold outside and glossy black inside.

Philippe Bestenheider est né en 1971 à Sion, en Suisse. En 1998 il obtient son diplôme d’architecture à l’Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Zurich et travaille en Suisse et aux Etats- Unis. En 2000 il obtient un Master en design industriel à la Domus Academy de Milan, où il enseignera par la suite. De 2001 à 2006 il est Senior Designer dans le bureau de Patricia Urquiola à Milan. En 2006 il participe à l’exposition Promosedia. En 2007 il fonde son propre studio à Crans-Montana en Suisse et à Milan. En Juin dernier il obtient le prix italien pour l’innovation ”premi dei premi” avec la chaise Nanook qu’il a dessinée pour Moroso. Parmi ses clients il compte Moroso, de Sede, Pallucco, Fratelli Boffi , Varaschin, Frag, Area Declic et la gallerie Nilufar.
