All consuming

It's safe to say that 2020 has been a somewhat turbulent time for the retail sector. And it's not over yet. When the tide goes out (so the old expression has it), you get to see who's been swimming naked. The challenges already faced by physical retail stores due to changing consumer behaviour have only been redoubled by the acceleration towards online purchasing that this year's circumstances have precipitated.

And yet. Design. Concept-led, materially expressive interiors that help deliver unique and memorable retail experiences, where the project is an essential part of the product. This way lies landfall.

Teaming up

Designing a lighting system for the office of today requires not only technical know-how and imagination, but also an understanding of how these increasingly dynamic spaces – as well as the teams who inhabit them – tick. No simple task, but one for which Hamburg-based specialist Tobias Grau offers a solution. Coming up with a name, one might suppose, was the easy part.

The TEAM series is a smart, connected, modular system that optimises office lighting conditions with a combination of cutting-edge beam- and sensor-technology and a sleek, unobtrusive, design language. It comes in five visually unified forms, including the TEAM 1 desk-clamp version, and freestanding models TEAM 2 and TEAM 4. And, like the best teams, this TEAM functions best when it’s working together.
