Coasting 

The tides may ebb and flow but our fascination with the sea – and being on the coast – remains constant. Climate change and coastal erosion notwithstanding, we're still building on the beach, although nowadays with a greater consideration of environmental impact and sustainability.

The Hooded Cabin by Arkitektværelset

Arkitektværelset's design for the Hooded Cabin had to comply with Norway's strict building regulations and meet the client's brief of building a robust and efficient structure with panoramic views. Situated at an altitude of 1125 metres, the cabin's 'hood' acts as a protective element, while creating a strong visual contrast with its sculptural form.
