David Chipperfield Architects' new landmark for Zurich, the no-expense-spared expansion to the city's hallowed Kunsthaus, has perhaps eclipsed an equally impressive project of theirs – the refurbishment of one of Berlin's modernist icons, Mies van der Rohe's Neue Nationalgalerie.
