Poland is open for business. It's not for nothing that there are now over 300 flights a week from London to the land of borscht – a burgeoning economy, characterised by rapid and sustainable growth in both export and inward investment, combined with a home market hungry for top-drawer architecture and design. A survey of the latest ambitious builds and innovative products from the East only testifies to this.

Witamy! (As they say in Warsaw.)

Nanan by Buck Studio
Photo: PION Basia Kuligowska and Przemysław Nieciecki
Nanan means sweetmeats in French and sweets play the leading role in the signature design of this modern patisserie in Wroclaw. The deliberately minimalist interior provides a subtle setting for the protagonists: finely decorated sophisticated cakes and éclairs made with meticulous care.
