DESIGN SEINE

The breadth of Paris trade fair Maison&Objet's offering is matched by that of its international audience: architects, interior architects, planners, as well as decision-makers from the hospitality and retail sectors, hit the French capital every January and September scouting for inspiration for their projects.

The latest edition – which runs from 2 to 6 September – sees the implementation of a new exhibition concept, where similar product groups are being brought together, hopefully saving visitors valuable time and a good deal of legwork.

Those looking for further inspiration while in the City of Light might want to check out Daniel Buren's 'Observatory of Light' project at the Frank Gehry-designed Fondation Louis Vuitton. Or artist Haegue Yang's highly architectural Venetian-blind installation at the Pompidou Centre.

And for daily inspiration, why not subscribe to the Dailytonic Newsletter for bite-sized updates on the latest from the architecture and design scenes?

Over and out. À bientôt!

Be inspired!

N°22: JEAN-MARIE MASSAUD
Jean-Marie Massaud’s work marries, on the one hand, strong high-tech qualities with timeless elegance, lightness and warm comfort on the other.

Continuing our series of articles on Material Tendencies, Architonic met the French architect and designer earlier in the year, whose work ranges from industrial and interior design, through major architectural projects, to one-off items and series production.

Jean-Marie Massaud: 'I like natural materials that are versatile and efficient. Usually it is the merging of high technology and natural material incarnation.'
