Special Newsletter MAISON&OBJET January 2015

The prominence of MAISON&OBJET in Paris is underscored by the fact that this multi-themed trade fair is held no less than twice a year. With a content focus ranging from accessories to innovative material surfaces, the fair has succeeded in positioning itself strategically as a forum for a range of industries covering the entire spectrum of interior design.

Accordingly, Paris is used as an information platform by a heterogeneous target group that includes not only architects and interior architects, but hotel operators, gift shop owners and, of course, interior decorators as well. However, the fair’s international prestige is based not just on the range of product groups and themes it offers, but also on its successful offspring in Singapore and Miami.

In Paris, Architonic will be breaking new ground in offering visitors to the fair a fascinating insight into the latest analytical data. The data is based on its long-term cooperation with all leading premium brands, which enables Architonic to present a representative picture of the latest developments on the market. What also makes the data so relevant is the high volume of traffic on Architonic. We look forward to welcoming you to the Architonic Trend Analysis at both entrances to the passageway between halls 7 and 8.

MAKE : A three-step itinerary. Essential for understanding the ‘signs of the times’

In our day, we don’t want to let things go anymore. Everyone wants to regain control. The home is increasingly attractive. Traditional expertise is restoring value to manufactured goods. The latest luxury can be seen in a return to the essential beauty of craftsmanship and perfecting materials. We love watching the scenes of the creation which manufacturent exceptional objects. Makers and artisans redefine the rules of an alter-design. Contemplation of nature, the genius of the hand and the technological advances mark out the evolution of a world in the process of again.

NATURE MADE by François Bernard (Croisements)

Scientists, artists and designers of living things are summoning the spirit of nature and playing with its laws using somewhat bewitching rituals. Leaving things to chance, the experiments and mutations made by these bio-magicians are catalyzing the supernatural. Thus are born fascinating creations that herald a new generation of objects.

HUMAN MADE by Elizabeth Leriche

As the tool for a new luxury, the hand is touching and transforming things. From the alphabet of materials and the grammar of crafts, neo-artisans’ expertise is putting together sensitive, rare items. Beyond their function, these works show a radical uniqueness. The art of making is freeing the object from the norm so that it can leave its mark in time.

TECHNO MADE by Vincent Grégoire (NellyRodi)

Could the designer of tomorrow be hiding under an engineer’s coat? Designing benevolent machines connected to a digital environment, new algorithms for contemporary comfort are inventing a heightened relationship to the world. And they herald novel life experiments that will strengthen our well-being and autonomy.
