Wet dreams

If you're lucky enough to have a private pool, well done. The rest of us are officially jealous. In these times of enforced social withdrawal, access to what we all know would do us good – any form of wellness – is at a premium. 

We've rounded up some of the best examples from around the globe of residential projects where the pool is the hero, along with a survey of the latest spa projects. Just how public wellness destinations are going to operate – and stay afloat (no pun intended) – as we adapt to what many are calling 'the new normal' remains to be seen. But that shouldn't stop us imagining a water-based arcadia.

Due partly to the shared reference to water in their names, Aqua Health Clinic cooperated with Waterfrom Design to jointly create a space that subverts the collective public notion of traditional Chinese medicine. Through design, the philosophy of the Compendium of Materia Medica's five elements and it's medicinal herbs are presented in new sensory forms.
