Imagine being able to lie in bed and fry an egg on the stove at the same time and you wouldn't be far wrong. The current trend in stand-alone micro homes is a whole different ball game, however – fertile testing ground for architects to negotiate (within literally the tightest of parameters) the relationship between people, space, and both the urban and the natural environments, while also serving as manifestos for carbon-footprint reduction. 

It's the little ones that often bark the loudest.
