Urban-greening projects have become standard fare for many a regeneration plan. From a sustainability perspective, the benefits of reclaiming and repurposing previously redundant or underused land are hard to dispute. What's more, planning a 'second nature' into our cities delivers clear health benefits for citizens, not to mention aesthetic ones. And then there's the greater civic interaction and place-making it generates. 

So, go hug a tree. It's closer than you think.

The Vallmora Park Insect Hotel in Masnou, Barcelona, helps preserve endangered insects and improves the park's health by promoting greater biodiversity. The hotel was recognised as a ‘Highly Commended’ project at the World Architecture Festival 2017, Berlin, Germany.
