Depending on your point of view, we're either already in a climate crisis or on the threshold of one. (Let's leave aside outright denial for the moment.) The challenges are great. Squaring population growth and increased urbanisation with sustainable housing, for example, certainly isn't easy. 

One response is micro living. Once the stuff of future-gazing speculation, the latest crop of architect-designed diminutive dwellings – both one-offs and modular systems – demonstrate how going small need not necessarily be a privation.
