An important goal but also a starting point for a company that, through six decades and three generations, has been able to distinguish itself thanks to its strong vocation for innovation through the creation of technologically advanced products that are increasingly recognised and appreciated.

Among the brand's most recent successes are the space-saving and multifunctional tables with Libro closure, tilting tops and folding legs, on castors, adjustable in height but also seats and complements in line with the new trends in living and working space concepts.

Founded in 1960 by Camillo Marchina as a company specialised in the construction of metal chair frames, over the years Mara has expanded its range of action, both productive and geographical, becoming today a brand appreciated and recognised in 70 countries around the world.

It’s in the late Seventies when Luciano Marchina, Camillo's eldest son, takes over the production of chair and table frames together with his brothers and focuses on a more and more industrial and qualitative concept, characterised by an approach in which technology and innovation merge with the typical ability of the 'Made in Italy'.

In 1984 the filing of the first patent, for a mechanism dedicated to office chairs, marked the entry into what would later become the sector to which specific attention is to be paid for the creation of new technologies, many of which are not yet on the market, anticipating needs and new trends.

During its sixty years of history, research and technology, quality, sustainability and service have played a key role in the life of the company. Values that have become part of a philosophy that has traced a path that has been positively recognised by the market, registering a turnover growth of +25% in the last year equal to 150,000 products manufactured in the 18,000 square meters of the factory.

The Brescia-based company is now owned by the second and third generations, respectively Luciano and Laura Marchina, who have maintained the original values even while integrating them in a perspective of continuous development, internationalisation and digitalisation.

'Innovation, and therefore keep innovating and self-improving, is a value and a modus operandi that has always characterised us. We have never stopped investing: during 2020 we installed two important fully automated machines connected with all our management systems. We are also planning further investments that will allow us to increase our production capacity' – comments Laura Marchina, CEO of Mara – 'The human dimension is a fundamental aspect, people come first for us: more and more specialised and qualified employees in we believe a lot and in whom we want to continue investing because we are convinced that they are the actors of the success of the history and the future of the company. Now, having reached the European market, our next goal is to bring, and continue to bring the Mara brand to the rest of the world'.
